Anna Goes to Target

Tonight was Anna's first trip to Target. We needed a couple of things from the store, and Amanda was really wanting to get out of the house, so we packed Anna up in her carseat and headed off to Target.

Once we arrived and got Anna's carseat attached to its stroller (having pushed a couple of stray buggies out of the parking space), we headed inside. The first thing Amanda said was "It's so nice to be out of the house!" I had to agree with her that getting out was a good feeling. We started to head toward the picture frames, but then I remembered that we had a coupon for the snack bar, which closes at 8 pm (it was about 7:35 at this point). We quickly spun around and headed to the snack bar, where we ordered our usual: an Icee and a nacho combo (which includes a Mountain Dew for me).

We headed out into the store as the snack bar closed at 8, and quickly found the picture frames we had been looking for. Having been nice and quiet for about half an hour, Anna picked the middle of the picture frame aisle to begin to get fussy. As a result, we quickly ran through the grocery section to grab a couple of things and I headed for the checkout as Amanda took Anna out the the car. The checkout lines weren't particularly crowded, so I made it out to the car about the time Amanda got Anna's carseat back on its base and the stroller in the trunk. I deposited our purchases into the passenger seat (Amanda was duly sitting in the back with Anna), and we headed for home.

And Then There Were Three

Anna Caroline McCracken was born this evening at 5:56 pm. She weighs 8 lbs, 10 oz and is 20 and 3/4 in long. She's an extremely cute little baby! We should be in DCH until sometime on Friday evening, when we will be able to take her home with us!

Amanda's mom and dad are here with us now, and we are expecting many more visitors over the next few days. Hopefully, our visitors will be able to help me finish moving. We were working on that last night when Amanda went into labor.

We are about to be moving from our Labor & Delivery Room into a normal room at DCH, so it's time to get all our things together for that move!
